今天羊驼给各位正在准备PTE考试的同学们带来了PTE考试中的SWT题型的例题解析：Biomimicry，从单词上来看就可以知道这篇文章是比较难的，它是属于生物的话题，我们看biology, 往往bio作为前缀的话，那么整个都是跟生物相关。这篇文章分为三段，但是讲了两个核心的概念，我们需要把它们从文中找出来，总结形成一句话的答案。

一、PTE写作SWT例题的原文

Biomimicry (from bios, meaning life, and mimesis, meaning to imitate) is a new science that studies nature's best ideas and then imitates these designs and processes to solve human problems. Studying a leaf to invent a better solar cell is an example. I think of it as 'innovation inspired by nature.'

The core idea is that nature, imaginative by necessity, has already solved many of the problems we are grappling with. Animals, plants, and microbes are the consummate engineers. They have found what works, what is appropriate, and most important, what lasts here on Earth. This is the real news of biomimicry: After 3.8 billion years of research and development, failures are fossils, and what surrounds us is the secret to survival.

Like the viceroy butterfly imitating the monarch, we humans are imitating the best and brightest organisms in our habitat. We are learning, for instance, how to harness energy like a leaf, grow food like a prairie, build ceramics like an abalone, self-medicate like a chimp, compute like a cell, and run a business like a hickory forest. The conscious emulation of life's genius is a survival strategy for the human race, a path to a sustainable future. The more our world looks and functions like the natural world, the more likely we are to endure on this home that is ours, but not ours alone.

二、PTE写作SWT例题的翻译

仿生学(来自bios，意思是生命，mimesis，意思是模仿)是一门研究大自然最好的想法，然后模仿这些设计和过程来解决人类问题的新科学。

三、PTE写作SWT例题的解析

第一部分：生难词积累

好，我们看一下第一个单词Biomimicry, 仿生学，模仿生物，那么人类模仿别的生物这个东西就叫做仿生学；Imitate，动词模仿，仿效；solar cell, 太阳能电池，Cell是细胞，Solar是太阳，对吧？跟太阳相关的太阳能电池；imaginative富有想象力的；Grappling with, 努力应对；Consummate这个单词，形容词，至上的，完美的；Organism，表示是有机物、生物体的。

第二部分：原文解析

1、这道题首先分成了3段，那么在这3段当中每一段其实都会有一个落脚点，不然的话就没有必要分段了。from biomimicry life and, 什么meanings to imitate, 所以整个这一块它都告诉你什么叫做Biomimicry，这个单词是不是一定要出现在答案当中.包括后我们看BYMRY，在反复出现，所以这个单词在答案中是一定要的，它解释了它来自BIOS，意味着生命，还有mimicis，意味着模仿，模仿生命，那么它就是仿生学的意思。

2、it's a new science是一种新型的一种科学，研究什么呢？Nature best ideas, 研究大自然它本身的一些好的想法，Then imitates these designs，我们去模仿这样的想法，And processes to solve human problems。注意，仿生学的落脚点还是要去解决人类的问题，如果解决不了人类本身的问题，那仿生学就没有存在的意义。这一点很重要。所以第一趴就是一个来自于仿生学这个单词的一种定义，然后讲了研究什么树叶、太阳能电池，是大自然所给的一种启发。

3、The cool idea, 它的核心思想是nature。Hasities of many of the problems we are grappling with, 这是因为大自然已经解决了我们现在正在努力应对的一些问题，那么我们是不是可以去模仿它呢？在整个第二段，第一一定是the cool idea的核心观念，但是他讲了两个点，一个是NATURE1，另外一个solve problem, 其实是不是已经被第一段的定义所涵盖掉了，这里的nature其实就是study the nature idea，solve problem和solve human problem其实是一样的。所以其实你如果不想抄第一段的部分，你抄第二段这里其实也OK。

4、Areit the best and bright organisms in our, habitat，我们其实正在不断的去模仿这些聪明的生物。对于人类这个种族而言，我们要去不断模仿它，这是一种能够让人赖以存活的机制，To pass to a sustainable future，能够去追溯这种可持续的未来。The no more likely we are to endure on this home, 我们越能够在这样一个不仅仅只有人类的世界中进一步的存活。所以在最后一段的最后这两句话。它其实表明的是仿生学的目的，它所通向的结果。所以我们可以理解成前面两段就在告诉你什么叫做仿生学，最后一段告诉你它的意义。

第三部分：答案解析

这篇文章分三段，其实讲的概念也就只有2个，那么最后一段的这个部分要带到，加上前面这个定义，带到了这道题你就出来了。
